I am delighted to express my cordial welcome to the Forum. This forum celebrates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Indonesia, and seeks the solutions for energy challenges that Indonesia faces in accordance with its continued economic growth. It must be a unique opportunity to introduce Japan's various renewable and energy-saving technologies highly contributing towards greener and sustainable future of Indonesia, therefore I look forward to seeing as many distinguished participants as possible at the Forum and strongly hope the relationship between the two countries will be further tightened through this significant event.

The Ministry of Energy Mineral Resources will certainly support the Business Forum which will be held on November 14th in Jakarta. I am confident that the Forum is a valuable opportunity for stakeholders of the two countries to further explore the cooperation prospects in the field of renewable energy, as well as energy conservation and energy efficiency, and wish the Forum a great success with fruitful outcomes for the betterment the two countries relationship.
1. Background

Japanese Business Alliance for Smart Energy Worldwide(JASE-W) is an organization founded in October 2008 to promote advanced and efficient energy technologies and implement them in partnership with governments around the world. One of its major goals is to contribute to solving global-scale issues as climate change, energy security and so on. The 2018 is a year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Japan-Indonesia diplomatic relations. As the commemorative events for this, JASE-W intends to organize the Business Forum for Energy Efficiency & Conservation and Renewable Energy in Jakarta to build further cooperative relationship between the two countries towards efficient energy use and low carbon emissions.
